DICKINSON: Frances Jean "Fran" Dickinson died at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on March 17, 2021 at the age of 89. Fran is lovingly remembered by husband John, children Bill (Audrey) Dickinson, Dawn (Ken) Winter,and Tracy (Barry) Chappell,as well as their families. A drive by memorial will be held in front of John & Fran's residence; 208-2nd St. in Waskada on Monday, March 22, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Private interment will be held at the Waskada Cemetery. Donations in memory of Fran may be made to the Waskada United Church, or to a charity of ones choice.

I hope that this note gets to Fran’s family…I was just sitting down planning my Christmas baking- which always includes the Traveling Ginger cookies, which Fran had submitted in the WI Cookbook, created in celebration of WI 100th anniversary in Manitoba back in 2010. I make them every year and I remember telling her that they were my favourite- to which she just chuckled- because apparently they were the favourites of many! In any case- I got to wondering about Fran- she was such a lovely woman-and truly a well respected member of the WI community. So- I tried googling her name, and discovered that she had passed. I think sometimes family members think that their loved ones get forgotten after a while, and I just wanted to let you know that I haven’t- I think of her every time I bake for Christmas!!
